Mostly, I think the Cohen investigation

Could explode the myth that Trump is a great businessman. Or a businessman at all. The meat of this article's assertion is that The Trump Organization made its money not through shrewdness, hard work, or any sort of business acumen. They did it by slapping a pretty gold "Trump" nameplate on projects no other legit businesses would touch. Because they were corrupt deals put together by corrupt people - often govt officials now under criminal shadows in their own countries, and internationally.

I have no trouble believing that. From my quarter century in distressed investing I know of Trump as an almost constant presence in the distressed marketplace. As a source of debt in dramatically overextended projects trading at deep discounts. As a guy you wouldn't trust as far as you could throw him if you do participate in one of his deals.

Which was enough for me to be fascinated that people would vote for him. If we also now get details of the international scum he did business with, it should make 2020 a hopeless campaign for Trump. So much so, that maybe he even decides not to run so he can always make his Trumpian claims that he could have won. But I still think that if this marks the beginning of the end of Trump's presidency, it'll be because it makes him unelectable, not impeachable. Impeachable would have to come with proof of something like treason, with enough certainty to get a lot of repubs to vote for it.

No, more likely he's a one term pres with legal problems waiting for him when he leaves office, and maybe a family business in tatters because of the spotlight his presidency shined on it. But I suspect he'll still make millions preaching conspiracy theories to his gullible believers.
